USA SEVENS INTERNATIONAL RUGBY TOURNAMENT RETURNS TO THE HOME DEPOT CENTER

SIXTEEN OF THE WORLD'S BEST NATIONAL RUGBY TEAMS TO COMPETE AT TWO-DAY EVENT, FEBRUARY 12-13
 

CARSON, CA (February 3, 2005) - A collection of international rugby talent from around the world will be on display when the USA SEVENS International Rugby Sevens Series, returns to The Home Depot Center in Carson, CA (February 12-13).

Last year's inaugural tournament brought the unparalleled excitement and color of international rugby to the United States for the first time, and the USA SEVENS is fast becoming one of the most popular stops on the International Rugby Board (IRB) World Sevens Series tour.

Two-Day Tournament Passes are currently on sale at the Home Depot Center Box Office and all Ticketmaster Outlets. The USA SEVENS is a two-day tournament involving 16 of the world's best national Rugby teams. Team USA (The Eagles) will take on defending Sevens World Champions New Zealand, World Cup Champion England, Fiji, France, South Africa and Australia. Other participating countries include teams from Argentina, Canada, Kenya, Mexico, Samoa, Tonga, Scotland, Uruguay and the West Indies.

The IRB World Sevens Series includes 40 nations competing in eight countries on five continents, including the stop at The Home Depot Center. The Sevens tournament season began in December and runs thru June. All international teams are competing for the World Series Championship title by accumulating points based on their respective finishes in each of these tournaments.
