U.S. Women’s National Team to play Mexico in second 
Send-Off Series game on May 17 in Carson, California

CARSON, CALIF. (Monday, Jan. 26, 2015) – The U.S. Women’s National Team will play its second Send-Off Series match against Mexico on Sunday, May 17, at StubHub Center, U.S. Soccer announced today. The match will kick off at 6 p.m. PT and be broadcast on FOX Sports 1.

The game will mark the WNT’s second-to-last game at home prior to departing for Winnipeg, Canada, in advance of the team’s first match of the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The U.S. outscored Mexico 15-0 over a span of three games in 2014. The CONCACAF foes embarked on a two-game set in September, with the USA scoring four goals in each half for an 8-0 win on Sept. 13 at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah. Five days later, the teams met again and the WNT nabbed the 4-0 victory at Sahlen’s Stadium in Rochester, New York.

The third and most significant win of the year came on Oct. 24 in Chester, Pennsylvania, as the USA defeated Mexico 3-0 in the semifinals of the 2014 CONCACAF Women’s Championship at PPL Park to book its seventh consecutive trip to the FIFA Women’s World Cup. 

This summer, the USA will face Australia, Sweden and Nigeria in Group D at the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup. The USA opens against Australia on June 8 at Winnipeg Stadium, followed by Sweden on June 12 in Winnipeg and Nigeria on June 16 at BC Place in Vancouver. 

The 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup runs from June 6-July 5 and all 52 games will be shown live on FOX, FOX Sports 1, FOX Sports 2 and on tablets and mobile devices through the FOX Sports GO app and FOXSportsGO.com.
