MLS-BEST GALAXY BEGIN PLAYOFF PUSH WITH THREE HOME GAMES IN SEPTEMBER: Still sporting the best record in MLS and preparing to welcome David Beckham back to the field for the first time this season, the LA Galaxy have begun the stretch run of the 2010 MLS season, with just two months remaining before the postseason begins. After opening the month in Chicago on Sat., Sept. 4, the Galaxy return to Southern California for three straight home games against Eastern Conference opposition to close out the month. On Sat., Sept. 11, the Galaxy host the Eastern Conference leading Columbus Crew at 7:30 p.m. The top two teams in the league met in Columbus on May 29, with the Galaxy claiming a 2-0 win. They will look for a repeat of that performance this time around against former MLS MVP Guillermo Barros Schelotto and the Crew. One week later, one of the best rivalries in MLS is re-kindled with the Galaxy hosting D.C. United in Carson on Sat., Sept. 18 at 7:30 p.m. Prior to this game, as part of the Galaxy Drive Series, the Galaxy Foundation will once again be collecting canned or non-perishable food items to benefit the Los Angeles Regional Foodbank. The Galaxy will then close out the month with the glamour game of the 2010 MLS season when they host the New York Red Bulls at The Home Depot Center on Fri., Sept. 24. That game, which kicks off at 8 p.m. is expected to bring the Red Bulls dynamic trio of Designated Players, Juan Pablo Angel, Thierry Henry and Rafa Marquez, to The Home Depot Center for the first time ever, to take on David Beckham, Edson Buddle, Landon Donovan and the rest of the Galaxy. LA won the first meeting at Red Bull Arena last month behind a Buddle goal and will now aim to complete the season sweep of the Red Bulls. Tickets for all of these games, and all 2010 LA Galaxy home games, are on sale now, with tickets starting at just $20.
