The Home Depot Center rolls out new fan recycling program, concession stand items and a restructured Club Seat program for the 2011 Season

Home Depot Center News

CARSON, CALIFORNIA (Friday, March 18, 2011) - With the start of a new MLS season this weekend, The Home Depot Center will be unveiling new additions and amenities for fans as Chivas USA hosts Sporting KC on Saturday at 7:30 p.m., and the LA Galaxy face the New England Revolution on Sunday at 5 p.m. In addition to a restructured club seat program and new concession stand items, the 125-acre facility is rolling out a recycling program with partner Waste Management.

The recycling program launches this weekend, and fans will now have options for disposing of waste into three bins; landfill (black bins), paper (green bins) and plastic (blue bins). The 98 newly-labeled bins were recycled, 55-gallon trash receptacles that have been in place at the facility since it opened in 2003, and are strategically placed in 32 clusters of three throughout the 27,000-seat soccer stadium.

\"With the help of AEG Facilities and AEG's 1EARTH campaign, this recycling initiative is something we're really proud of, and look forward to sharing with our fans,\" said Katie Pandolfo, general manager, The Home Depot Center. \"We recognize the importance of recycling, and are extending this program beyond the stadium level, and will be implementing the same practices throughout our administrative offices.\"

In addition to the recycling program, food and beverage partner Levy Restaurants is adding new menu items to its 15-permanent concession stands at The Home Depot Center. This weekend, Levy will introduce a Veggie Burger to the Northeast burger stand and a new Specialty Hot Dog Stand near the Southeast corner of the stadium. The stand will offer Chili Cheese Dogs, Pulled Pork Dogs and LA Street Dogs, served with bacon, grilled onions, peppers and mayonnaise. Several other items are new this year, and a complete lineup of food and beverage options for the 2011 season is available online.

\"For the second year in a row, we conducted a post-season survey, and several of the new food items we're offering this year are in direct response to fan feedback,\" said Pandolfo. \"We'll continue to tweak and add items throughout the 2011 season, to ensure we provide fans with quality service and food at The Home Depot Center.\"

Lastly, The Home Depot Center's Club Seat program has been restructured to create a more exclusive area, offering complimentary in-seat food and beverages with the price of a club seat ticket. The club seat ticket also includes parking and access to the American Express Stadium Club restaurant and bar.
