LA GALAXY IN PLAYOFFS FOR FIRST TIME SINCE 2005: For the first time since winning the MLS Cup in 2005, the LA Galaxy are back in the MLS Cup Playoffs. The club opens their quest for a third MLS Cup championship as the road team on Sunday, November 1 at 2 p.m. when they take on Chivas USA in Game No. 1 of their Western Conference Semifinal Series at The Home Depot Center. The return leg of the series comes seven days later at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 8, when the Galaxy host Chivas USA in Game No. 2 at The Home Depot Center. This is the Galaxy's first home playoff game since October 23, 2005 when Landon Donovan scored twice in LA's 3-1 win over the San Jose Earthquakes. If the Galaxy, who were 2-0-1 against Chivas USA this season, are able to advance past their in-stadium rivals in the two-leg, aggregate goal series, they will then host the winner of the series between the Houston Dynamo and Seattle Sounders FC in a single game Western Conference Championship at The Home Depot Center on either November 12 or November 14. A win in that game would send the Galaxy to the sixth MLS Cup in club history, with the team traveling to Seattle in hopes of capturing the third MLS Cup championship in club history. That game will be played on Sunday, November 22 and will kick off at 5:30 p.m., with ESPN2 and Galavision carrying all of the action live. Immediately after the season, the club will depart for Germany where they will take part in their annual postseason tour. This year's tour, which is presented by Herbalife, takes the club to Kaiserslautern, Germany, where the Galaxy will face FC Kaiserslautern at Fritz Walter Stadion. This game will kick off at 11:30 a.m. on November 26. Television details will be released at a later date.
