This Friday and Saturday, The Home Depot Center will host its annual Job Fair for part-time positions offered in several departments, including guest services/ticket takers, box office, security, concessions/food and beverage and retail sales. The Job Fair will take place on site at The Home Depot Center on Friday from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The application and interview process will take approximately one-to-two hours, and the Job Fair will take place rain or shine. GALAXY TO FACE ASIA'S BEST AT THE PAN-PACIFIC CHAMPIONSHIP: The 2009 MLS season is just over a month away, but before the Galaxy take the field for their season opener, the club will participate in the 2009 Pan-Pacific Championship at The Home Depot Center. The second edition of this tournament will see the Galaxy host some of Asia's best club teams, including Oita Trinita of the Japanese J.League, Shangdong Luneng of the Chinese Super League and Suwon Samsung Bluewings of the Korean K-League. The Galaxy finished third in the inaugural edition of the tournament, which was held in Hawaii last February, and will look to better that this time around. The tournament opens on Wednesday, February 18 when Shandong plays Suwon at 5:30 p.m., followed by the Galaxy versus Oita Trinita at 8 p.m. The PPC Third Place Game and Final will be held three days later on Saturday, February 21 when the two losing teams from Wednesday's games meet at 5:30 p.m. in the Third Place Game and the two winners meet in the 2009 Pan-Pacific Championship Final at 8 p.m. Tickets are on sale now for the Pan-Pacific Championship and for the Galaxy's 2009 MLS season, with tickets starting at just $15. CHIVAS USA OPENS PRESEASON CAMP; UNBEATABLE 'ALL-STAR PACK' AVAILABLE FOR JUST $50: Chivas USA has started preparations for the 2009 Major League Soccer season, which kicks off against the Colorado Rapids on Opening Day 2009, Saturday, March 21, at The Home Depot Center. Throughout February, Chivas USA will be training in Carson as the team drives toward a fourth consecutive playoff appearance. The Red-and-White's full schedule has been released and can be found by visiting cdchivasusa.com , and the club has also officially announced its ticket pricing for the 2009 Major League Soccer season. Season Seats start at just $10 per game, and fans can also purchase the unbeatable All-Star Pack, a five-game ticket package starting at just $50, that includes the Honda Super Clásico against intra-city rivals LA Galaxy (July 11) as well as Chivas USA's games against the Chicago Fire (May 28) and the expansion Seattle Sounders FC (April 18). U.S. WOMEN'S NATIONAL TEAM UPDATE: The month of February will be a quiet one for the U.S. Women's National Teams at The Home Depot Center with no youth women's national team activity schedule. The full National Team will be traveling to Portugal in late February to participate in the 2009 Algarve Cup where the USA will face Denmark, Iceland and Norway in group play. The Women's National Team players will return to the U.S. in mid-March and report directly to their Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) clubs, including several to the Los Angeles Sol, which will play its matches at The Home Depot Center. LOS ANGELES SOL TO START CAMP IN MARCH: The Los Angeles Sol, which features three-time FIFA World Player of the Year Marta and U.S. National Team standout Shannon Boxx on its roster, will open its first-ever training camp during the first week of March at The Home Depot Center. The club will kick off the 2009 season on Sunday, March 29 at The Home Depot Center when the club hosts the Washington Freedom at 3 p.m. The WPS Inaugural Match between the Sol and the Freedom will be the only one played in WPS that weekend. The remainder of the Sol's 2009 schedule will be announced in the coming weeks and season tickets are already on sale. Prices range from $125 to $750. CYCLING ACTIVITY AT THE VELODROME: Bike racing continues this month at the ADT Event Center with the LA Velodrome Race Organization's Omnium Series, which brings in riders from all over the United States and abroad to compete as they prepare for the Tour of California road race later this month. Last month, the entire U.S. National Team was on hand, with Taylor Phinney taking top honors. Also in February, Friday Night Training Races will help local ADT Event Center riders prepare for elite competition on February 13 and 27. As for ADT Event Center elite riders, Austin Carroll is in Europe, leading the field in International Track Points, as he races in the 6 Days of Copenhagen, Denmark, and the final event in Alkmaar, Holland. Joining Carroll, but riding in the junior races, is Jesse Marans, another ADT Event Center rider. Sarah Hammer, Adam Duvendeck, Christen King, Becky Quinn and Taylor Phinney remain active in training in Carson. USTA CAMPS IN FEBRUARY: As part of USTA's Player Development initiative, some of the country's top young tennis players will attend a national tennis camp at the USTA West Coast Training Center at The Home Depot Center February 6-8. Eight girls ages 11-12 were selected by members of the USTA National Coaching Staff based on their performance at various tournaments and camps over the last year. The campers will work with USTA National Coaches Richard Ashby and David Roditi and will receive on-court instruction, video analysis and nutritional and developmental advice.
