This year, more than 324,000 athletes from around the globe competed in the Open, ranging in age from 14 to 83 years old, with only 4,160 athletes qualifying for the second stage of the season. Of these athletes, 40 individual men, 40 individual women, 40 teams of six athletes each, 20 teenage boys, 20 teenage girls, and 200 Masters Athletes will compete in the Games.

For fans, the Games are a six-day festival of fitness. Tens of thousands of people come to Los Angeles to watch the world’s fittest, and connect with other CrossFit athletes, trainers and affiliate owners.

The competition starts Tuesday, July 19, with the Masters and Teenagers in the Soccer Stadium. On Thursday, July 21, CrossFit will declare the fittest in each of the seven age categories (40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60+, 14-15, 16-17).

The Individual and Team Competitions begin on Wednesday, July 20 and resume Friday July 22 through Sunday, July 24. For the last few years, the Individuals and Teams have begun on Wednesday with an off-campus event such as an ocean swim in the waters by the Manhattan Beach Pier.

All Individual and Team events are held at the StubHub Center Friday through Sunday. Each day begins at 9 a.m. PT with the Teams in the Soccer Stadium. Once the Teams are done midday, the Individuals take the soccer field. In the late afternoon, the Individuals move to the Tennis Stadium, where they perform under the lights. On Sunday, both the Individuals and the Teams will move to the Tennis Stadium midday for the finals.
