StubHub Center Monthly Calendar: May 2016
CARSON, Calif. (Tuesday, May 3, 2016) – A full calendar of StubHub Center event times and information during May 2016 is outlined below. Any media interested covering an event below or receiving additional information can contact a member of the StubHub Center Communications Department.
May 4 – LA Galaxy II vs. Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC
The 2015 USL Western Conference Champion LA Galaxy II will square off against its Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC in the two team’s first regular season meeting of 2016 at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4. They met in the 2016 preseason on March 19 at StubHub Center and Galaxy II defeated the Switchbacks 4-2. The match will take place in the StubHub Center’s Track & Field Stadium as renovations were recently completed. The first 1,000 fans to enter will receive a “This is LA” t-shirt.
May 4–7 – MLS Sueño Finals
The LA Galaxy have been selected as a host of the landmark 10th edition of Sueño MLS – Presented by Allstate Insurance Company, the premier nationally-televised search for the best undiscovered soccer talent in North America.
Celebrating its historic 10th year, Sueño was staged by three Major League Soccer teams, including first-time host Portland Timbers, as well as returning hosts LA Galaxy and the New York Red Bulls.
May 5 – Carson Farmer’s Market
StubHub Center is the home of the Carson Farmer’s Market, which takes place every Thursday from 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. PT in Lot 13. The Carson Farmer’s Market, managed by LA City Farm, is free and open to the general public. The market offers fresh produce, quality food and various handcrafted items, including jewelry and other clothing, which will be available for purchase every Thursday. Prior to moving to the StubHub Center, the Carson Farmer’s Market was located at the SouthBay Pavilion Mall.

May 7 – LA Galaxy II vs. Sacramento Republic FC
LA Galaxy II face Sacramento Republic FC at 7:30 p.m. in StubHub Center’s newly renovated Track & Field Stadium on Saturday, May 7. Galaxy II have forged quite the history with the Northern California rival in just two years of USL participation. Galaxy II defeated Sacramento in the first round of the USL Playoffs in 2015 after they were knocked out by Sacramento in the 2014 playoffs. But in regular season matchups, Sacramento holds a firm 5-1-2 series edge. Los Dos has never won at home against Sacramento.
May 8 – LA Galaxy vs. New England Revolution
LA Galaxy, one of MLS’s hottest teams, take on New England Revolution in an afternoon Mother’s Day game at StubHub Center with the two teams kicking off at 12:30 p.m. Going into the match, the Galaxy have the longest unbeaten streak in MLS.
The Galaxy will be hosting a Mother’s Day Celebration as part of the match. The match will feature a special Mother’s Day Brunch in addition to various other activations in order to celebrate mothers. May 12 – Carson Farmer’s Market
StubHub Center is the home of the Carson Farmer’s Market, which takes place every Thursday from 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. PT in Lot 13. The Carson Farmer’s Market, managed by LA City Farm, is free and open to the general public. May 14 – KIIS FM’s Wango Tango
Tickets are now on sale for 102.7 KIIS FM’s “WANGO TANGO,” the station’s highly anticipated annual pop music festival hosted by Ryan Seacrest, at StubHub Center in Carson on Saturday, May 14. This year’s chart-topping artist lineup includes Ariana Grande, Zayn, Demi Lovato, Meghan Trainor, Fifth Harmony, Iggy Azalea, DNCE, Alessia Cara, The Chainsmokers, Kygo, Mike Posner, Zendaya and Gwen Stefani. Ryan Seacrest and the entire KIIS FM Air Staff will host the show, with special celebrity guest host appearances to be announced.
StubHub Center is set to host “WANGO TANGO” for the fifth consecutive year. “WANGO TANGO” has been hosted at various venues in Southern California over the previous 17 years, featuring marquee performances in a day-long concert format and attended by various celebrities and special guests.

May 20 & 21 – CSUDH Commencement
The Tennis Stadium at StubHub Center will host the commencement ceremony for California State University at Dominguez Hills on Friday, May 20 and Saturday, May 21. The full commencement schedule is available here.
May 22 – LA Galaxy vs. San Jose Earthquakes
LA Galaxy will host San Jose Earthquakes in the teams’ second meeting of the 2016 season on Sunday, May 22 at 4:00 p.m. at StubHub Center. In the first meeting of the season, also at StubHub Center, LA defeated San Jose 3-1 behind two goals from Gyasi Zardes.
May 26 – Carson Farmer’s Market

May 28 – LA Galaxy II vs. Arizona United SC
The 2015 USL Western Conference Champions LA Galaxy II will take on Arizona United SC in the two sides’ second match of the 2016 season. These two first faced each other in the USL season opener at StubHub Center on March 26. LA defeated Arizona 2-0 behind two goals from Ariel Lassiter.
May 28 – Armenia vs. Guatemala International Friendly
StubHub Center will host a friendly between the Armenian and Guatemalan National teams at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 28 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets to the match are available for purchase here.
