StubHub Center April Calendar
CARSON, Calif. (April 4, 2016) – A full calendar of StubHub Center event times and information during April 2016 is outlined below. Any media interested covering an event below or receiving additional information can contact a member of the StubHub Center Communications Department.
March 23–April 17 – UniverSoul Circus
The UniverSoul Circus is a world-class, live entertainment attraction that has captured the hearts and imaginations of a new generation of families. Celebrating its 23rd year of fun, UniverSoul Circus has come full circle in its influence in the international entertainment marketplace - garnering the distinction of being known as a one-of-a-kind, must see attraction.
UniverSoul Circus has presented more than 11,000 performances to live audiences, exceeding 20 million people, and has been seen in more than 60 million households on both local and national television networks. The Emmy nominated HBO special remained in rotation for more than six (6) years. Not since Disney, has a brand had such relevance to a new generation.
Thursdays, April 7, 14, 21, 28 – Carson Farmer’s Market
StubHub Center is the home of the Carson Farmer’s Market, which takes place every Thursday from 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. PT in Lot 13. The Carson Farmer’s Market, managed by LA City Farm, is free and open to the general public. The market offers fresh produce, quality food and various handcrafted items, including jewelry and other clothing, which will be available for purchase every Thursday. Prior to moving to the StubHub Center, the Carson Farmer’s Market was located at the SouthBay Pavilion Mall.
The Carson Farmer’s Market will be located at StubHub Center in Lot 13 with easy access off Victoria Street at Gate D.
Friday, April 8 – LA Galaxy II vs. Orange County Blues FC
The 2015 USL Western Conference Champion LA Galaxy II will square off against its Southern California rival for the first time of the 2016 season. In Los Dos' four 2015 matches with the OC Blues, Galaxy II went 2-1-1.
Sunday, April 10 – LA Galaxy vs. Portland Timbers
The LA Galaxy will get their first crack at the 2015 MLS Cup Champions at home when they take on the Portland Timbers on April 10, at 6:30 p.m. PT (FS1, FOX Deportes). The Galaxy played the Timbers twice in 2015, winning once and losing once. Last years' two contests yielded 12 total goals from both sides.
Wednesday, April 13 – LA Galaxy II vs. San Antonio FC
Galaxy II will take on new USL club San Antonio FC in their first ever meeting on April 13. In their first match of the season, San Antonio FC opened with a 3-0 win over Seattle Sounders FC 2.
Friday, April 22 – LA Galaxy II vs. Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2
Galaxy II defeated Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 twice in the teams' two 2015 meetings. This season, the teams will again play each other twice.
Saturday, April 23 – LA Galaxy vs. Real Salt Lake
The Galaxy take on Western Conference foes Real Salt Lake on Saturday, April 23, at 7:30 p.m. PT live on Time Warner Cable SportsNet and Time Warner Cable Deportes. LA Galaxy faced Real Salt Lake four times in 2015, three in MLS Regular Season play. The two teams split those games fairly, going 1-1-1. Despite a down year for Real Salt Lake in 2015, the side has remained unbeaten in 2016 after its 2-1 defeat of league leaders Sporting Kansas City on April 2.
Saturday, April 30 – Premier Boxing Champions: Berto vs. Ortiz II
Premier Boxing Champions returns to StubHub Center when former welterweight world champions "Vicious" Victor Ortiz (31-5-2, 24 KOs) and Andre "The Beast" Berto (30-4, 23 KOs) will meet again in a 12-round welterweight rematch. Ortiz and Berto first faced off in their 2011 welterweight world title barnburner that garnered significant Fight of the Year buzz. The bout saw both men hit the canvas twice, including a thrilling round six in which each fighter was knocked down. In the end, Ortiz walked away with a unanimous decision. A victory in the rematch will propel the winner to the forefront of the world title picture in this stacked with talent division.
