Seven players that trained with Athletes' Performance selected in the 2010 NBA Draft

Home Depot Center News

Seven players that trained with Athletes' Performance in preparation for the NBA Combine and NBA Draft heard their name called last night at the 2010 NBA Draft in New York, NY. With a history of supporting top NBA players including All-Stars and NBA Champions, Athletes' Performance is now applying that same integrated training system to help the next generation of NBA players prepare for the NBA Combine and Draft. Two of the seven athletes drafted were taken in the First Round, as Wesley Johnson, F, Syracuse, was selected 4th overall by the Minnesota Timberwolves and Larry Sanders, F, VCU, was selected 15th overall by the Milwaukee Bucks.

Johnson and Sanders were part of a group of players that worked with Athletes' Performance specialists in a special joint collaboration with ATTACK Athletics in Chicago, IL. Working out of ATTACK's 65,000sq ft facility, the best of performance training, nutrition and physical therapy from Athletes' Performance and the world class skills training of ATTACK Athletics were brought together to provide a one-stop destination for top collegiate players preparing to make the jump to the NBA.

\"Athletes Performance has done a great job supporting ATTACK Athletic's pre-draft clients. Their integrated training and nutrition programs have complemented ATTACK's Basketball Skill Program, and our clients are performing at peak levels,\" said Tim Grover, founder and head of skills training at ATTACK Athletics.

Other athletes drafted included Landry Fields, F, Stanford, 39thby the NY Knicks; Jarvis Varnado, PF, Miss. St., 41st by the Miami Heat; Da'Sean Butler, G, WVU, 42nd by the Miami Heat; Magnum Rolle, C, Louisiana Tech, 51st by the Oklahoma City Thunder; and Jeremy Evans, F, Western Kentucky, 55th by the Utah Jazz.

One of the great storylines of Draft night was the selection of Da'Sean Butler, G, West Virginia, the 42nd overall selection by the Miami Heat. Da'Sean suffered a torn ACL injury in the 2010 NCAA National Semi-final and had surgery to repair the knee at The Andrews Institute, the home of Athletes' Performance - Florida. After returning to school to finish out the school year, Da'Sean returned to Athletes' Performance - Florida to continue his rehab and to begin performance training. Da'Sean's tremendous hard work and effort has shown in his tremendous progress during his comeback, prompting the Heat to take a chance on the 2010 Second Team All-American. For more on Da'Sean's comeback check out the video \"Da'Sean Butler: Operation Comeback\" from ESPN.
