LA Galaxy announce 2001 MLS Schedule

CARSON, Calif. (Thursday, February 10, 2011) - The LA Galaxy today announced their schedule for the 2011 MLS regular season. The club will play 34 games, 17 at home and 17 on the road, in 2011, starting with their season opener against the Seattle Sounders FC in MLS First Kick 2011, presented by Dick's Sporting Goods, at Qwest Field on Tuesday, March 15. The Galaxy will play two games, one home and one away, against each of the other 17 teams in MLS this season.

The Galaxy will play their home opener on Sunday, March 20 against the New England Revolution at 5 p.m. (PT), live on Galavision from The Home Depot Center.

Of the Galaxy's 34 games in 2011, 11 will be aired by the league's national broadcast partners, ABC/ESPN and the Univision family of networks. ESPN and ESPN Deportes are scheduled to air six Galaxy games in 2011, including both games against Chivas USA (May 21 and Oct. 6), New York Red Bulls (May 7 and Aug. 28) and Seattle Sounders (Mar. 15 and July 4).

Galavision and TeleFutura will broadcast a total of five Galaxy games, beginning with the club's home opener against the New England Revolution on Sunday, March 20 at The Home Depot Center. The network will also show the Galaxy's away match against FC Dallas (May 1), their game at Gillette Stadium against the New England Revolution (May 28), and their trip to Houston to face the Dynamo (Oct. 23).

Once imported into your calendar, the tool will make changes and updates as they occur throughout the season.

Longest Homestand: Three Games - The Galaxy will host Seattle (7/4), Chicago (7/9) and Columbus (7/20) for their longest homestand of the year.

Longest Road Trip: Three Games - The Galaxy will play three consecutive road games just once this season visiting D.C. United (4/9), Toronto FC (4/13) and Chicago (4/17).

11 of the Galaxy's 34 regular season games will be available on national TV
6 games will air on ESPN or ESPN2 as well as on ESPN Deportes
5 games will air on Galavision or TeleFutura
Of the 11 nationally televised games, four will see the Galaxy as the home side, while seven will feature the Galaxy as the visitors.
