HIP HOP, RAP AND R&B MUSIC ARTISTS CHINGY, CHRIS BROWN AND O.N.E. TO PERFORM AT THE BATTLE OF THE HI

Carson, CA (October 24, 2005) - Music artists Chingy, Chris Brown and O.N.E. will perform live at the half-time show of the second annual Battle of the High School Marching Bands. As today's popular hip hop, rap and R&B artists, the half-time show will highlight a night of musical competition as eight high school marching bands will be battling it out on the stadium field \"southern show style\" at The Home Depot Center on Saturday, Nov. 19.
 
\"This event encompasses everything that the VH1 Save The Music Foundation is about by bringing students together through the power of music,\" said Paul Cothran, Executive Director, VH1 Save The Music Foundation. We are so thankful to our judges and especially to the Home Depot Center. Now, more public school students will have the opportunity to participate in music education.\"

In the coming weeks leading up to the Battle of the Bands, the artists will be appearing on local Los Angeles radio stations. Chris Brown will be live on 100.3 The Beat on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 4:00 p.m. and will be giving away tickets on the air.
 
The Battle of the High School Marching Bands at The Home Depot Center on Saturday, Nov. 19, will feature eight high school marching band finalists from across the nation who will compete for $10,000 to purchase new instruments or uniforms for their school. Three of the eight finalists are from local Los Angeles high schools including Alain Locke High School (Los Angeles), Crenshaw High School (Los Angeles) and Inglewood High School (Inglewood).
 
About Chingy

About Chris Brown
Popular artist Chris Brown, appearing on shows including MTV's Total Request Live (TRL) and BET's 106 & Park, is 16 years old and has been compared to Michael Jackson, Tevin Campbell and Usher. His debut single, \"Run It,\" on his Young Love album can be heard today on the radio.
 
About O.N.E.
The Southern California-based group O.N.E. was formed by manager Fonzel Harris. The men of O.N.E. arrange and write their own music, assist with the choreography of all performances and train to be versatile in both the arts of singing and rapping. O.N.E. performed in August at the 100.3 The Beat Summer Hummer Jam at The Home Depot Center. O.N.E .is making a name for themselves in R&B.
 
About The Battle of the High School Marching Bands Last year, The Battle of the High School Marching Bands raised $40,000. All proceeds benefit The Home Depot Center Charitable Foundation and the VH1 Save The Music Foundation.  Gold sponsors for the event are Comcast, Disneyland and 100.3 The Beat. Tickets for the Nov. 19 event are $10 for reserve seating and are available for purchase at The Home Depot Center Box Office and through Ticketmaster. 
 
Since VH1 Save The Music was created in 1997, they have given nearly $30 million worth of instruments to more than 500,000 children. VH1 Save The Music's many honors include the Governor's Award (a special Emmy Award), the George Foster Peabody Award for broadcast and cable excellence, and many Beacon Awards.
