WASHINGTON, D.C. - The NFL Players Association is proud to announce that Herm Edwards and Dick Vermeil will serve as head coaches in the 2013 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl.

Vermeil, who led the National Team to victory in the inaugural game, will take on Edwards' American Team on January 19 at the Home Depot Center on the campus of California State University Dominguez Hills in Carson, Calif. Tickets are available here: http://collegiate.nflpa.com/ Edwards was a 10-year NFL cornerback whose fiery personality sparked a career as an NFL head coach and now current ESPN NFL analyst.

Vermeil was a decorated head coach in the NFL for 19 years, including leading the St. Louis Rams to a Super Bowl title in 1999.

Edwards and Vermeil have crossed paths on the gridiron before. In 1977, Edwards made his NFL debut with the Philadelphia Eagles, where Vermeil held the reigns as head coach. Together, they won the Eagles' first NFC title in 1980 to advance to Super Bowl XV. As head coaches, they met three times between 2001 and 2005 when Vermeil's Kansas City Chiefs faced Edwards' New York Jets. Nearly three decades after Vermeil gave Edwards his NFL start, Vermeil retired in 2006, and Edwards succeeded him as head coach for the Chiefs.

For one week preceding the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl, participating draft-eligible seniors will receive an in-depth introduction to the union - the primary resource for information on the business of football and how to succeed in the NFL and in post-football careers.

Pro-football players and coaching legends will work with the game's future stars, giving them first-hand insight on what it takes to win on and off of the field. Player Ambassadors for the game include former NFL standouts Terrell Davis, Lorenzo Neal and Andre Reed.
