CONCACAF announces teams and schedule for 2015 Gold Cup Group B doubleheader on July 8 At StubHub Center

(Thursday, March 12, 2015) – StubHub Center, in conjunction with CONCACAF, announced today the teams and schedule for the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup doubleheader to be played at StubHub Center on July 8, 2015 featuring the national teams of Costa Rica, El Salvador, Canada and Jamaica.

The Group B doubleheader action will kick off at 5 p.m. PT as Costa Rica takes on Jamaica at StubHub Center on July 8 followed by a clash between El Salvador and Canada at 7:30 p.m. PT. The CONCACAF Gold Cup will be played throughout North America from July 7-26.

Tickets to the CONCACAF Gold Cup doubleheader at StubHub Center will be available to the general public starting on Thursday, March 19 at 10:00 a.m. PT by visiting www.GoldCup.org.

To date, eleven of the twelve national teams scheduled to participate have qualified for this year’s tournament. Canada, Costa Rica, Cuba, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama, Trinidad & Tobago and the United States will compete for the Confederation Crown in July.

The final spot will be decided in late March through a play-in series between the fifth-place finisher of the 2014 UNCAF Central American Cup (Honduras) and the 2014 Caribbean Football Union Caribbean Cup (French Guiana). French Guiana will be home team for the first leg on March 25, while Honduras will host the return leg on March 29.

Besides serving as the home of the five time MLS Cup champion LA Galaxy since 2003, the StubHub Center is also the national team training headquarters for the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF). StubHub Center features a 27,000-seat stadium for soccer, football and other athletic competitions and outdoor concerts; an 8,000-seat tennis stadium; a 2,000-seat facility for track & field and a 2,450-seat indoor Velodrome – the VELO Sports Center – for track cycling.

StubHub Center will be hosting the Gold cup for the fifth time in 10 years, previously hosting the region’s marquee tournament in 2005, 2007, 2009 and 2011. StubHub Center is also home of the United States Tennis Association’s (USTA) High Performance Training Center and EXOS, an international training center for elite and professional athletes.

Taking place every two years, the Gold Cup has established itself as the region's most popular national team tournament. Featuring the Confederation's best players from 12 top nations, the competition routinely draws capacity crowds and millions of television viewers across the region and around the world.
