Club América to host Pumas UNAM on Saturday, Oct. 8 at StubHub Center

Tickets for the Club América-Pumas UNAM match will go on sale to the general public on Friday, Sept. 2 at 10:00 a.m. PT

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Thursday, Sept 1, 2016) – StubHub Center, in conjunction with PRIMETIME Sports, announced today that Club América will host Pumas UNAM at StubHub Center on Saturday, Oct. 8 at 6:00 p.m. PT in the first ever Mexico City derby to be played in California.

Tickets for the Club América–Pumas UNAM match, which start at $35, go on sale to the general public on Friday, Sept. 2, at 10 a.m. PT. Fans can purchase tickets to the match by clicking here, at the StubHub Center box office (open Monday-Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT), AXS.com, Ticketon.com, 1-800-668-8080 and select points of sale. Club América, who play in Mexico’s Liga MX, Mexico’s top division, is the most winning team in the history of Mexican soccer, with 12 league titles, six Cup titles, and six CONCACAF Champions League trophies. Club América celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2016. The club is managed by Ignacio Ambriz and features a lineup of standout players, including forward Oribe Peralta, midfielder Rubens Sambueza, defender Paul Aguilar and goalkeeper Moises Muñoz.

Pumas UNAM, led by head coach Francisco Palencia, have won the Liga MX championship seven times and are the first team to win two championships in a row during the short-tournament era. Pumas UNAM’s roster includes players like forward Matias Britos, midfielder Pablo Barrera, defender Dario Veron and goalkeeper Alejandro Palacios.

The Club América–Pumas UNAM clash, renowned as the Clásico Capitalino, has always been characterized by its rivalry and hard-fought soccer spectacle.

The match is part of TOUR ÁGUILA and will be part of the numerous celebrations surrounding Club América’s 100th year anniversary.
