THE WORLD’S FASTEST CYCLISTS RETURN TO LA THIS NOVEMBER
The best cyclists in the United States and around the world will descend upon Los Angeles for the Los Angeles Grand Prix at the VELO Sports Center. The UCI Class 1 event serves as an opportunity for world-class cyclists from around the globe to earn points for upcoming World Cups and the 2015 World Championships. The competition will also serve as the 2014 U.S. Paralympics Track Cycling National Championships. In addition to hosting domestic and international elite competitors the race will also integrate adaptive sport by running events that will make up the 2014 US Paralympic National Championships.
Notable Racers Competing
- Sarah Hammer, Six-time World Champion, two-time-Olympian and Double Olympic Silver Medalist in London
- Njisane Philip, London 2012 Olympic Sprint 4th Place and 7th Place in the Keirin representing Trinidad and Tobago
- Hugo Barrette, Pan American Team Sprint Silver Medalist, 2013 Canadian National Champion in Sprint and Keirin
- Bobby Lea, 2 Time Olympian, 2012 Pan American Elite Scratch Race Champion, 11 Time US Elite Track National Champion
Notable Paralympic Cyclists Expected to Compete
- Greta Neimanas, who won a world title at the same venue in a scratch race in 2012
- Allison Jones, who won gold and bronze at the London 2012 Paralympic Games
- Jennifer Schuble, who won silver and bronze in London and silver at the 2012 track worlds
- Joe Benenyi, who also won gold in London
- Tandem cyclists Clark Rachfal and pilot Dave Swanson
