7TH ANNUAL THE EASTER EGG HUNT
SEVENTH ANNUAL EASTER EGG HUNT TO BE HELD AT THE HOME DEPOT CENTER ON FRIDAY
CARSON, Calif. (Thursday, March 28, 2013) – The LA Galaxy Foundation and the StubHub Center will host the Seventh Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Friday afternoon. The Easter Egg Hunt, which will be held on the Track and Field Stadium at The StubHub Center, will begin at 1 p.m. with more than 600 local children ages 1-10 participating. Current Galaxy players Bryan Gaul, Kofi Opare, Kenney Walker and Gyasi Zardes will be in attendance along with the Galaxy Street Team, LA Galaxy Star Squad while the Southbay Pavilion Mall will provide the Easter Bunny.
Food will be available at the event from The Grilled Cheese Truck while Inside the Scoops will provide ice cream. Activities include music from KOST FM, arts and crafts, a visit from the LA County Fire Department – Engine Co. 116 fire truck, MB Landscaping & Pot Planting, and the Wildlife Learning Center. Candy and prizes will be provided by Nestlé USA and Snookies Cookies for children in each age group. Additionally, California Pizza Kitchen will be donating 500 Free Kids Meal Certificates to the first 500 children that arrive at the event.
5TH ANNUAL THE READING GARDEN CHALLENGE
The StubHub Center & LA Galaxy Foundation announce Annalee Avenue Elementary School in Carson as 2013 Reading Garden Challenge Winner
CARSON, Calif. (Wednesday, March 27, 2013) - The StubHub Center Foundation and The LA Galaxy Foundation announced today that Annalee Avenue Elementary School in Carson, Calif., has been selected as the winner of the 2013 Reading Garden Challenge and will have a Reading Garden built on their campus. Students from Annalee Avenue Elementary School logged 54,504 reading minutes during the 30 day period to win the reading garden for their school.
The Reading Garden Challenge called for schools and students (grades K-5) to focus on Earth Day (April 22, 2013) as part of their literacy efforts by reading (or being read to) Earth Day-themed books for 30 minutes a day for 30 days (February 14-March 15, 2013) and log their minutes. The Reading Garden will be built on April 22nd (Earth Day) and April 23rd with volunteers from the Galaxy, The StubHub Center, The Home Depot and the American Heart Association Teaching Gardens.
As a supporter of the Reading Garden Challenge for the past five years, The Home Depot will provide the supplies needed to build the reading garden for Annalee Avenue Elementary School. Activities provided by the American Heart Association Teaching Gardens and will teach the students how to plant seeds, nurture growing plants, harvest produce and ultimately understand the value of good eating habits by building a vegetable garden within the Reading Garden. Students and volunteers will be treated to lunch by Salt Creek Grille on the day of the build.
The StubHub Center Foundation donated Wango Tango luxury suite tickets to the students at Cal State University Dominquez Hills and the I.Am.Angel Foundation. On Saturday, May 11, 2013 KIIS FM’s WANGO TANGO will be held at the StubHub Center starring: Bruno Mars, Maroon 5, Will i am, Demi Lovato, Miguel, Krewella, Emeli Sandé and Ariana Grande to name a few. Hosted by Ryan Seacrest, with a special guest host appearance from Britney Spears. All the kids had a blast!

CARSON, Calif. (Wednesday, June 13, 2013) – The LA Galaxy Foundation and StubHub Center Foundation (formerly The Home Depot Center Foundation) are pleased to announce that StubHub has committed to a long-term partnership with the two charitable organizations. The first activity of the partnership will be for the Foundation to host three youth activity days as part of the venue’s annual
summer Camps for Kids, beginning tomorrow (Thursday, June 13) at StubHub Center.
LA Galaxy players A.J. DeLaGarza, Landon Donovan, Sean Franklin and Marcelo Sarvas, all of who were a part of the club’s MLS Cup championship in 2012, will be in attendance on Thursday, to meet with children and help get them excited about the sport of soccer.
The camp will include training sessions for invited families to participate in soccer drills including dribbling, passing and shooting. StubHub volunteer staff will provide basic soccer instruction to the guests who will also receive gift bags complete with a soccer ball and other items to encourage families to continue practicing at home.
Each child attending the camp will also receive vouchers good for four free tickets to the Galaxy vs. Portland Timbers match, as well as free parking for StubHub Center’s official grand opening on June 19.
Now in its fifth year, Camps for Kids is an opportunity for children ages 7-10 to participate in soccer drills and learn valuable fitness tips to fuel a healthy lifestyle. As an extension of StubHub’s charitable program Rising Stars, the company has committed to financially supporting the program for at least three years through an initial grant of $30,000.
As the new naming rights partner for StubHub Center (formerly The Home Depot Center), and in partnership with AEG, owners of the venue, StubHub is committed to understanding the needs of the local Carson and South Bay communities, and giving back for the long-term. The 2013 launch of the Camps for Kids program will take place just six days before StubHub Center officially hosts its first event when the 2012 MLS Cup Champion LA Galaxy take on the Portland Timbers in an MLS regular season match on Wednesday, June 19.
￼￼The StubHub Center Foundation worked with the STAPLES Center Foundation on the BET Experience Youth Program!
The BET Experience Youth Program is a program designed to educate high school students, ages 16-18, from local communities about the various aspects of the music industry. The students spent three days, June 28-30th, at The BET Experience at L.A. LIVE learning about careers in music including event production, music journalism, as well as the history and impact of African American culture in music, and much more in the hands-on educational experience.
Throughout the three days, 40 selected students toured the GRAMMY Museum with a special curated tour of the BET Awards Lifetime Achievement Awardees Exhibit; learned first-hand from large scale producers and industry executives about event production and the music business, watched up and coming artists perform live, and attended the 2013 BET Awards.

(Friday, August 30, 2013) – The LA Galaxy Foundation and StubHub Center Foundation’s seventh annual How Suite It Is!, presented by el Jimador, fundraiser will take place on Saturday, Aug. 31 and limited tickets remain. The event, which will be held on the East Terrace of StubHub Center starts at 5:30 p.m. and will run all the way up to kickoff of the LA Galaxy – San Jose Earthquakes match at StubHub Center Presented by The Flame Broiler at 7:30 p.m.
Limited tickets remain and are available at www.lagalaxy.com/community/howsuiteitis, however, the VIP and Luxury Cabana tickets are sold out. The How Suite It Is! event includes a ticket to the Galaxy game, the opportunity to watch pregame warmups from fieldside and a special postgame meet and greet with Galaxy players A.J. DeLaGarza, Todd Dunivant, Sean Franklin, Marcelo Sarvas and Gyasi Zardes. In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to see acoustic R&B duo Olivia and Aragon and the Sledge Grits Band.
All proceeds from How Suite It Is! will be donated to the LA Galaxy Foundation and StubHub Foundation. Guests must be 21 years of age or older in order to attend the event.

CARSON, Calif. (Wednesday, November 20, 2013) – The LA Galaxy Foundation and the StubHub Center Foundation will host the 10th Annual Thanksgiving Foundations’ Feast at StubHub Center on Monday, Nov. 25 at 4 p.m. As part of the event, LA Galaxy players Landon Donovan, Hector Jimenez, Brian Rowe and Kenney Walker, as well as staff from both the Galaxy and StubHub Center will help serve a complete Thanksgiving meal to 250 local children and families in need. An annual tradition at StubHub Center since 2003, this year’s event will feature the serving of a full Thanksgiving buffet, including turkey, stuffing and all the trimmings. Arts, crafts and activities will also be provided.
The Foundations will host families from Fred Jefferson Memorial Homes, Los Angeles Children and Family Services, El Nido Family Services, The Salvation Army Red Shield, Koinonia Family Services, Children’s Institute Inc., Hope 4 Kids, Salvation Army San Pedro, and Monte Vista Mentoring Program.
This year’s Thanksgiving Foundations’ Feast is made possible by donations from the LA Galaxy, StubHub Center, Macy’s, Coca-Cola, StubHub, McDonald’s, Ralph’s/Food 4 Less, Polly’s Pies, Levy Restaurants, BF Construction, Heyday Elite Fitness, City of Carson Kiwanis Club, Disney, Starbucks, Bristol Farms, Melissa’s Produce, See’s Candies, and Bread Los Angeles.
9TH ANNUAL U.S. MARINE CORPS RESERVE TOYS FOR TOTS-TOY DRIVE
TThe StubHub Center Foundation will collect new unwrapped toys and books for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program on Monday, December 9, 2013 through Friday, December 20, 2013. The toys will be delivered to children (ages 2-13) in need located in the city of Carson by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve.
U.S. MARINE CORPS RESERVE TOYS FOR TOTS GOAL:
The primary goal of U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a shiny new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to youngsters that will motivate
them to grow into responsible, productive, patriotic citizens and community leaders.
AEG JOB SHADOW PROGRAM
Twenty high schools students from diverse backgrounds were paired with AEG staff to gain valuable experience and insight into the business operations of the sports and entertainment industry. The program exposes youth to leadership and career development opportunities through direct observation, hands on activities, and one-on-one engagement with AEG employees.
On Monday, July 22, 2013 StubHub Center and Los Angeles Galaxy staff spoke to (30) high school students during a speaker series about their jobs at StubHub Center.
The students had a session with the following: Katie Pandolfo (StubHub Center General Manager), Tamala Lewis (StubHub Center Community Affairs Director), Kristen Anderson (StubHub Center Events Sales & Special Projects Director), Calvin Spencer (Broadcast and Event Presentation Department Manager), Casey Leppanen (LA Galaxy and StubHub Center Marketing Senior Director), and Justin Pearson (LA Galaxy
Communication Manager). The students also received a special StubHub Center gift bag and tour of the venue.
￼￼The StubHub Center is an official Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) location for Orange County’s Tanaka Farms. The partnership provides a weekly delivery of organic, locally-farmed fruits and vegetables to The Home Depot Center. Anyone is eligible to participate in the CSA program by registering here and selecting “The Home Depot Center” as your CSA location. The cost for membership is $20 for a small produce box and $30 for a large produce box, plus a $3 delivery per box.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated back to StubHub Center Foundation.
DISASTER RELIEF EFFORTS FOR TYPHOON VICTIMS OF THE PHILIPPINES THE NEED WAS MASSIVE AND THE NEED WAS IMMEDIATE!
On November 7 Super Typhoon Haiyan brought flash floods, landslides and immense destruction to the Philippines. The storm, known locally as “Yolanda,” was one of the most powerful on record. Thousands have been killed, over 600,000 people have been displaced and children are bearing the brunt of the crisis.
The StubHub Center Foundation and LA Galaxy Foundation join forces with the City of Carson and organized Disaster Relief Efforts for the Philippines.
On November 19 through November 21 the foundations collected the following preferred items: Bathroom items/toiletries, non-perishable food over-the-countermedicine, and clothing.
The City of Carson, American Logistics International, LLC, and Philippine Airlines delivered all of the collected items directly to the Philippines.
